![]() ![]() I think the latter location is probably where MuseScore found it, and it happened automatically because MuseScore never prompted me for its location. It gave me two copies of lameenc.dll, one in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Lame for Audacity' and one in C \Windows\SysWOW64. ![]() Drilling down to that and pointing to such a DLL (lame3.99.5) results in an error: Could not open MP3 encoding library Hitting the OK button (which is the only choice) leads to a crash (hence critical). I'm running Windows 8.1, and I downloaded and ran Lamev3.99.3forWindows.exe. So I decided to make my own, that can be used alongside official mods, to provide the same kind of enhancements and improvements. When trying to export as MP3, MuseScore asks for the location of lameemc.dll. Because they are supposed to be supporting a more realistic playstyle, they end up creating effects and features that aren't that great, just because they were already available as part of the main game. They end up becoming a bit redundant, and in a way they are kind of cheating. The problem with all those mods is their overuse. That's why I started making my own terrain generators, that I can use in the game to create similar effects to those created by creators of this mod. ![]() I personally don't think its very good, not because of these effects, but because the whole thing looks kind of unfinished. It also adds a lot of features like disorientation after touching something that normally wouldn't register, and also dust particles that are blown around the map while you are moving. This feature adds a lot of realism to the game with the use of terrain generated objects and detailed collision. So I let it do so, and it put a newer version of the lame file in the exact same location as before. To verify, I renamed the lame file, started GW, then tried to Save As to MP3, and it said it had to download the encoder. You put yourself, the company, and countless others (that ever use the POS terminal) into severe grave danger by reusing DLLs. So the FAQ should be revised if this is where the lame encoder is normally stored. This is a new feature that I made for myself, so I thought I'd share it with everybody else. Personal and professional opinion: It's unsafe, and illegal (in most jurisdictions, including the USA, thanks to the DMCA and related laws).
